Portland Fun and Food!

Our first trip to Portland Oregon started out with a 12 hour drive from Provo. The drive has a lot of flat desert areas which aren't super fun to look at, but once you get to the Columbia River Gorge it is really beautiful! The area has tons of trees and is very green and lush.

We were able to rent electric scooters in downtown and rode the Portland Aerial Tram at the hospital. The top has a great view of the city.

We also visited the Portland Rose Test Gardens. It is a huge area part of Washington Park with so many flower beds it's hard to see them all. There were a couple of beds with very unique multicolored roses.

Our main purpose of visiting was for a wedding! We got to attend the groom's dinner, the Portland Oregon temple, and the reception. All of it was beautiful and so much fun!

We ate a lot of sugar while in Portland. Voodoo donuts is famous for the experience of the shop. The donuts were delicious and pretty big!

The best treat we had though was ice cream from a place called Salt & Straw. It has flavors that you can't find anywhere else such as strawberries and goat cheese, almond brittle, and potato chip cupcake. This is a can't-miss place.

On the way out, we stopped at Multnomah Falls. This is the biggest waterfall in the state and is very picturesque from the lower view. The hike to the top was longer than we thought and pretty steep, but not too bad and the view from the top was great.

We would recommend all of these experiences to someone visiting for the first time or returning again!
